Setting up notifications

Peptide Navigator uses Web Push to nudge you when a reminder is due. Setup is a one-time step per device and takes under a minute. All controls live on the Reminders page.

Android & Chrome / Edge

Open the app and go to Reminders.
Tap Enable push in the header.
Approve the browser permission prompt.
Optional: use your browser's Install app / Add to Home Screen option for a full-screen icon.

Notifications work in the browser tab and continue after installing to the home screen.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

Open the site in Safari (not Chrome on iOS).
Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen → Add.
Close Safari and open Peptide Navigator from the new home-screen icon.
Go to Reminders → tap Enable push → allow notifications.

Requires iOS / iPadOS 16.4 or later. Apple only delivers Web Push to installed home-screen apps.

Desktop (macOS & Windows)

Use Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox or Safari 16+ on macOS.
Open Reminders and tap Enable push.
Approve the browser permission prompt.
Optional: install the app from your browser's address bar for a standalone window.

Notifications are delivered by the operating system, so they appear even when the browser is closed (once permission is granted).

Good to know

• Each device is registered separately — enable push on every phone, tablet or computer where you want to be nudged.
• Reminders are checked every minute by a scheduled worker, so alerts arrive at (or within ~60 seconds of) the time you set.
• To stop notifications on a device, open Reminders and tap Push on to disable, or revoke the site's notification permission in your browser.
• If notifications don't arrive: check your browser notification permission, your OS notification settings, and (on iOS) that you opened the app from the home-screen icon rather than Safari.
